                    Simple and simply delicious. From the Wisconsin Dutch chapter of the United States Regional Cookbook, Culinary Arts Institute of Chicago, 1947. Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, cleaned and minced  |  
                                                6 tablespoons butter  |  
                                                6 tablespoons flour  |  
                                                6 cups milk  |  
                                                salt and pepper, to taste  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. Brown mushrooms slightly in melted butter; blend in flour and stir milk in gradually. 2. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring as needed to keep the mixture smooth. 3.
