This recipe comes from The Old Fashioned Cookbook, 1975. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons bacon bits |
1 tablespoon unsalted butter |
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped |
1/4 cup all-purpose flour |
4 cups milk |
1 (16 ounce) can cream-style corn |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 teaspoon celery salt |
Directions:
1. In a small skillet, melt butter and saute the chopped onion until tender but not brown. 2. Stir in the flour; add the milk, cooking and stirring constantly, for 3 minutes or until smooth and thick. 3. Stir in corn and bring almost to a boil. 4. Add the seasonings and bacon bits. |
