from aol posting. Submitted by Suzanne D. Make basic soup and add 1 of the following vegetables and the corresponding seasonings. The seaoning salt is Mrs. Dash or regular Johnny's. Ingredients:
4 tablespoons butter |
4 tablespoons flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1 dash cayenne pepper |
1 1/2 cups milk |
2 cups chicken broth |
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt |
1 teaspoon onion powder or 1 teaspoon a small chopped onion |
2 cups asparagus |
1 teaspoon lemon juice |
1 dash nutmeg |
1 1/2 cups green beans |
1/2 teaspoon savory |
2 cups broccoli |
1/2 teaspoon thyme |
1 dash garlic powder |
1 bay leaf |
1 cup carrot |
1 tablespoon parsley |
1/2 teaspoon basil |
2 cups cauliflower |
1/2 teaspoon curry powder |
1 1/2 cups mushrooms |
1 dash nutmeg |
Directions:
1. In a soup pot melt and brown butter and flour. Add salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add milk, chicken broth, Mrs. Dash and onion. Choose a vegetable (pureed or chopped) and seasonings. |
