This recipe goes with Matt's Chicken-Fried Steak Ingredients:
3 tablespoons reserved chicken-fried steak pan drippings |
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 cups milk |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Cook drippings in a heavy skillet over medium heat until hot; add flour, stirring until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, 5 minutes or until light golden brown. Gradually stir in milk; cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Stir in salt and pepper. 2. Note: Vegetable oil may be added to drippings to make 3 tablespoons, if necessary. |
