The best pound cake around! Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans, divided |
1 1/2 cups butter, softened |
8 ounces cream cheese, softened |
3 cups sugar |
6 eggs |
3 cups cake flour, sifted |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla |
Directions:
1. Sprinkle 1/2 cup pecans in a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan; set aside. 2. Cream butter and cream cheese in a large bowl. 3. Gradually add sugar; beat well. 4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. 5. Add flour and salt, stir until combined. 6. Stir in vanilla and remaining pecans. 7. Pour into prepared pan. 8. Bake at 325* for 1-1/2 hours, until a pick comes out clean. 9. Cool in pan 10 minutes. 10. Remove and cool completely on a wire rack. |
