It is delicious, but does have the consistency of a cream-cheese middle. When I made it, it was a substitute for the cream cheese middle for a dessert and worked wonderfully. If you're aiming for this to make divinity candy, it doesn't work as even another reviewer had the same outcome as I did. I didn't whip the candy for as long as the recipe states on purpose for my benefit, but obviously when doing it exactly as the recipe states it doesn't work either. Ingredients:
1 (2 5/8 ounce) envelope dream whip topping mix |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 lb powdered sugar |
1/3 cup karo corn syrup |
1/2 cup boiling water |
Directions:
1. Combine the Dream Whip, corn syrup, vanilla, and boiling water in a 2 quart mixing bowl. Beat on highest speed until stiff peaks form, about 5 minutes. 2. On low speed, gradually blend in the powdered sugar. 3. Drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper. Allow to dry at least 12 hours. |
