These lemon bars begin with cake mix. Ingredients:
1 (18 1/2 ounce) lemon cake mix |
1/2 cup butter |
3 eggs, divided |
2 cups lemon frosting, canned |
8 ounces cream cheese |
Directions:
1. Grease a 9 X 13-inch pan. 2. Combine cake mix, butter, and 1 egg. 3. Stir until moisten. Press into pan. 4. Blend frosting into cream cheese. 5. Reserve 1/2 cup mixture to frost bars. 6. Set aside. 7. Preheat oven to 350°F. 8. Add remaining eggs to remaining frosting mixture. 9. Beat 3-5 minutes at high speed. 10. Spread over base. 11. Bake about 30 minutes. 12. Cool slightly and frost with reserved frosting. 13. Cut into bars. |
