CREAM CHEESE FILLED CHOCOLATE GLAZED BUTTER SWEETS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Adair Estate in Sulphur Springs, Texas in 1994. Ingredients:
1/2 cup real butter at room temperature |
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup flour |
filling |
3 ounces cream cheese softened |
1 cup confectioner's sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans |
1/2 cup shredded coconut |
glaze |
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate morsels |
2 tablespoons water |
2 tablespoons real butter |
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar |
Directions:
1. Cream butter then add sugar, salt and vanilla and mix thoroughly then add flour. 2. Shape into 36 small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets and press deep hole in each. 3. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes then fill while warm and cool completely then pour frosting over top. 4. To make filling cream together cheese, sugar, flour and vanilla then stir in nuts and vanilla. 5. To make frosting melt chocolate, water and butter over low heat then remove from heat. 6. Stir in sugar then beat until smooth. |
