Ingredients:
1 package yellow cake mix |
1 package instant vanilla pudding |
1/2 cup shortening |
1 cup water |
4 eggs |
5 tablespoons flour |
1 cup milk |
1/2 cup butter |
1/2 cup shortening |
1 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Mix cake mix, pudding, and shortening on low speed until crumbly. 2. Add the water and eggs. 3. Beat on medium for 2 minutes. 4. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13 pan. 5. Bake a 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. 6. Cool for 10 minutes. 7. In a saucepan combine flour and milk until smooth. 8. Bring to a boil. 9. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. 10. Cool completely. 11. Cream butter, shortening, sugar, vanilla, and salt. 12. Beat in milk mixture until sugar is disolved, about 5 minutes. 13. Split cake into 2 horizontal layers. 14. Spread filling over the bottom layer. 15. Replace top layer. |
