This was the first dessert I ever made as a very young aspiring chef! I made it for my mom's birthday, but I didn't know how to make frosting. So since then we have never had it with frosting, just whipped cream, cool whip or powdered sugar. Ingredients:
3c all purpose flour |
6tbl unsweetened cocoa |
2tsp baking soda |
1c granulated sugar |
2/3c vegetable oil |
2tbl white vinegar |
2tsp vanilla |
2c cold water |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350f, grease a 9x13 pan. 2. Mix dry ingredients in bowl, add wet and combine. 3. Pour into prepared pan and bake 30 min. 4. Use toothpick test to check for doneness. 5. Cool on rack for about 1 hour. 6. Eat plain or with whipped cream, cool whip or powdered sugar. |
