Recipe came from husband's grandmother who has now passed away. Ingredients:
4 tablespoons cocoa |
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine |
1 cup sugar |
1 1/2 cups sifted flour |
1 egg |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 cup milk |
1/2 cup boiling water |
Directions:
1. Grease and flour 8 inch square cake pan. 2. Put all ingredients except 1/2 cup boiling water in a large bowl. 3. Pour 1/2 cup of boiling water over above ingredients and beat about 2 minutes with electric mixer. 4. Pour into baking pan. 5. Spread evenly. 6. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. |
