This is something my son has loved since he was old enough to eat good. He still begs me for it on a weekly basis. It is not low fat, low carb, low nothing, but it is good!! Ingredients:
1 lb ground sirloin |
1 (15 ounce) can corn |
1 (15 ounce) can sweet peas |
1 cup rice, uncooked |
seasoning salt |
onion powder |
garlic powder |
salt |
pepper |
4 tablespoons margarine |
Directions:
1. Cook rice according to directions in salted water. Mix 2 Tbl of margarine in the rice after it is cooked. 2. Meanwhile, brown ground sirloin in a large skillet with a lid and season with seasoned salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and pepper. Drain. Add the can of corn and the can of peas, plus the remaining 2 Tbl of margarine. Mix well and cover for about 10 minutes on medium low-medium heat. 3. Mix rice into meat mixture and serve. |
