Cranberry sauced beets. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
1 tablespoon sugar |
dash salt |
1 cup cranberry-juice cocktail |
2 1-pound cans sliced beets, drained |
1/4 teaspoon grated orange peel |
Directions:
1. Combine 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 1 tablespoon sugar, and dash salt in saucepan. 2. Gradually stir in 1 cup cranberry-juice coctail. 3. Cook and stir over medium heat till mixture thickens and bubbles. 4. Add two 1-pound cans sliced beets, drained, and 1/4 teaspoon grated orange peel. 5. Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes. 6. Makes 8 servings. |
