This is a whole cranberry sauce I got from a Julia Child special some years back. It's delish! I usually cut the recipe in half, it makes a lot! Ingredients:
3 lbs four packages cranberries, washed and picked over |
2 cups sugar |
2 cups brown sugar |
3 grated oranges, rind of |
1 cup orange juice |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
Directions:
1. Put all ingredients into a roomy saucepan. Bring to a boil, stir and then cover. Lower the heat slightly, but keep boiling just until the berries burst - four to five minutes. Sauce jells when cool. Freeze leftovers, I use small 1/2 cup freezer containers, just the right size for a Sunday chicken dinner for two or three. |
