Cranberry Salad with Port

I got this recipe from a very dear friend. It's a nice change from standard, boring cranberry sauce. I make this every Thanksgiving.
Ingredients:
12 ounces cranberries
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup tawny port
1 teaspoon freshly grated lemon, zest of
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Directions:
1. Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes or until the berries burst and the mixture has thickened.
2. Pour into a bowl or a mold and refrigerate.
3. Serve at room temperature.
4. NOTE: You can substitute orange juice and orange zest for the lemon.
