The aroma of orange, cranberry, and cinnamon simmering together lets you know that the holidays are here. Ingredients:
1 (12-ounce) package fresh cranberries |
1 1/2 cups diced peeled pear (about 3) |
2 teaspoons grated fresh orange rind |
1 cup fresh orange juice |
3/4 cup packed brown sugar |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice |
2 (3-inch) cinnamon sticks |
1/3 cup chopped pecans, toasted |
Directions:
1. Combine first 8 ingredients in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes or until berries pop. Cool to room temperature (about 2 hours). 2. Remove and discard cinnamon sticks. Stir in pecans. Cover and chill. |
