Great simple alternative to regular cranberry sauce. Best when made in advance so bourbon can blend in well. Ingredients:
1 (16 ounce) can peaches, undrained |
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed |
1/4 teaspoon allspice |
1 1/2 cups maple syrup |
1 (12 ounce) bag cranberries (or 1 can whole cranberry sauce) |
1 (2 fluid ounce) bottle jack daniels whiskey (or other bourbon) |
Directions:
1. Blend peaches until coarse. 2. Place in saucepan. 3. Add in sugar, syrup, allspice and bring to a boil over medium heat. 4. Add cranberries and cook until berries pop. 5. Return mixture to blender and pulse until mixture reaches relish consistency. 6. Stir in Jack Daniels and refrigerate until completely cooled. 7. (Can be made up to 3 days in advance). |
