I copied this down from a magazine at a friend's house, so I have no clue where it actually originated. It was a big hit with my family at Thanksgiving, even though they're not usually very adventurous eaters. Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar |
1 cinnamon stick, 3-4 inches |
6 -8 whole cloves |
6 -8 allspice berries |
2 tablespoons fresh ginger |
1/2 cup cider vinegar |
1/2 cup raisins |
1 apple, peeled and diced |
12 ounces fresh cranberries |
Directions:
1. Add brown sugar to 1 cup water and boil until dissolved. 2. Add rest of ingredients and simmer until cranberry skins split. 3. Cool until thickened. |
