If you love apples and cranberries you will love this recipe and it is actually very good for you but don't tell anybody, just delve in and enjoy 2 of your required 5 fruit and vegetable servings. Yummy Ingredients:
1 cup cranberries washed and stems removed |
3/4 cup granulated sugar |
2 tablespoons maple syrup |
1-1/2 cups pared chopped apples |
2 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. In medium saucepan combine cranberries and sugar. 2. Mash cranberries slightly then add syrup and 1/4 cup water and mix well. 3. Bring to boiling stirring 3 minutes or until cranberries pop. 4. Add chopped apple and butter. 5. Bring to boiling then reduce heat and simmer covered for 5 minutes. 6. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. |
