I got this recipe out of an issue of Well Aware from Trident Health System. It's both nutritious and delicious with a nice sweet/tart balance. Ingredients:
3 cups apples, diced |
2 cups fresh cranberries |
1/2 cup sugar or 1/2 cup maple syrup, to make it healthier |
1/4 cup orange juice |
1/4 cup melted butter |
1 cup oats |
1/2 cup brown sugar or 1/4 cup honey, & 1/4 cup molasses to make it healthier |
1/3 cup flour or 1/3 cup whole wheat flour, for a healthier alternative |
1/2 cup pecans |
Directions:
1. Mix the first four ingredients together and put mixture in a greased pan; set aside. 2. In a separate bowl, mix the remaining ingredients; crumble them on top of the cranberry mixture. 3. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 35 minutes. |
