Cranberry and Apple Stuffing |

This festive stuffing combines tart cranberries and apples with savory herbs for a delicious flavor twist. Serve with roast chicken or pork, or with the holiday turkey. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
2 cups celery, chopped |
1/2 cup onion, chopped |
1 teaspoon thyme leaves |
1 teaspoon rosemary |
1 teaspoon parsley flakes |
2 red apples, cored and chipped |
1 1/4 cups dried cranberries |
1 teaspoon grated orange peel |
4 cups unseasoned bread cubes |
1 cup chicken broth |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325°F Melt butter in large skillet on medium heat. Add celery and onion; cook and stir 5 minutes or until softened. Stir in next 5 ingredients and orange peel. 2. Place bread cubes in large bowl. Add celery mixture and broth; toss gently until well mixed. Spoon into lightly greased 13x9-inch baking dish; cover. 3. Bake 35-40 minutes or until heated through and lightly browned. |
