Ingredients:
35 piece(s) saltine crackers one stack |
2 stick(s) butter, unsalted bring to room temperature |
3/4 cup(s) brown sugar bring to simmer |
12 ounce(s) chocolate chips, dark or semi-sweet either is fine |
3/4 cup(s) pecans or walnuts chopped |
Directions:
1. Preheat 350 oven.....line large COOKIE SHEET with PARCHMENT PAPER!! **important**..... Lay out flat one stack (about 35) of Saltine Crackers (do NOT overlap).....on stove, BOIL together BUTTER and BROWN SUGAR for 3-4 minutes or so.....POUR over Saltines to cover.....BAKE 5 minutes at 350.....REMOVE from oven.....shut OFF oven.....spread evenly the package of CHOCOLATE CHIPS over the crackers.....stick tray BACK IN OVEN for minute or so for easy spreadability of chocolate.....REMOVE.....put CHOPPED NUTS on top of the crackers and pat into melted chocolate ..... COOL ..... REFRIGERATE several hours.....BREAK into bite sized pieces .....store in refrigerator ..... keeps well. |
