Momma's crab puff recipe, a cocktail party must. I can't count how many of these we made together for celebrations and showers. So good. Ingredients:
1 can of refrigerated crab meat, 6 1/2 ounces, drained and picked over for shells |
1/2 cup of grated extra sharp white cheddar |
3 green onions, chopped white and tender green only |
1 teaspoon of worchestershire |
1 teaspoon of dry mustard (colman's) |
1 cup water |
1 stick of butter |
1/4 tsp of salt |
1 cup of flour |
4 large eggs |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 2. Combine first five ingredients ina bowl. 3. Combine water, butter and salt in a saucepan. 4. Bring to boil. 5. Remove from heat, add flour and beat until it forms a ball. 6. Add eggs one at a time. 7. Beat well after each addition. 8. Blend in crab mixture. 9. Scoop by tablespoon (about a golf ball size) onto parchment lined cookie sheets. 10. Bake for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to 350 degrees and cook for ten minutes more until golden brown. |
