This is a hot crab dip in a loaf - I've watched people go over and sit around this loaf and just devour it until it is gone - even when there were other appetizers in the room! Ingredients:
1 cup sour cream |
1 cup mayonnaise |
3 chopped green onion |
1 can crab meat |
1 cup grated cheddar cheese |
1 tsp. lemon juice |
salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Combine first 7 ingredients. Cut top off loaf like you would a pumpkin and pull out all of the bread from the inside of the loaf, being careful not to pull a hole in the crust. Set bread aside. 2. Pour dip into loaf and return lid. Wrap in tinfoil and bake at 300 F for 2 hours. 3. Pull remaining bread into individual pieces for dipping and serve with loaf. There won't be enough bread so you should also serve some crackers or bread sticks (or both). |
