food Ingredients:
1 pound white crab meat |
24 grams white bread, with crust removed, chopped (2 slices) |
1/4 cup egg beaters |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1 tablespoon mustard |
1/4 teaspoon tabasco or hot sauce |
1/2 cup light mayonnaise |
2 tbsp lemon juice |
1/4 cup olive oil |
1/3 cup flour |
Directions:
1. take two slices of white bread and remove outer crust and discard it. 2. chop the remaining bread and set aside. 3. in a large bowl, whisk together egg beaters, worcestershire sauce, mustard, tabasco sauce, mayonnaise, and lemon juice. 4. add chopped bread and crab meat to bowl. 5. mix together all ingredients and shape mixture into 8 large or 12 medium crab cakes. place crab cakes on wax paper and refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. 6. heat olive oil in large skillet over medium-low heat. place crab cakes in skillet and cook for 5 minutes on each side until golden brown. d 7. do not overcrowd skillet while cooking. |
