This recipe was adapted from Racheal Ray's Tasty Travels, Episode Best Barbeque and is from the Cowgirl Hall of Fame Bar-B-Q & Western Grill in Sante Fe, New Mexico. Enjoy! This is a southwestern and Western recipe. Ingredients:
1/2 yellow onion, chopped |
2 celery ribs, chopped |
1/4 cup ketchup |
1/4 cup water |
1 cup worcestershire sauce |
1/4 cup vinegar |
1 1/4 teaspoons ground cumin |
1 1/4 teaspoons chili powder |
1 1/4 teaspoons hot sauce |
1 1/4 teaspoons black pepper |
1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt |
1/8 cup liquid smoke flavoring |
1 tablespoon brown sugar |
1 tablespoon dijon mustard |
1/4 cup molasses, plus |
1 tablespoon molasses |
Directions:
1. Puree onions and celery. 2. In a large sauce pot combine the puree and the remaining ingredients and simmer for 25 minutes. Remove and use as desired. Great on meats, tofu, even vegetables! |
