A delicious shredded beef sandwich recipe which can be made days ahead and reheated. Ingredients:
3 lbs boneless chuck roast |
1/4 cup vinegar |
1 tablespoon accent seasoning |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 teaspoon paprika |
1 1/2 cups water |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1 small onion, diced |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
1 teaspoon dry mustard |
1/2 cup butter (optional) |
Directions:
1. Put all ingredients except butter in a cooking pot and simmer for 3 to 4 hours until very tender. 2. Stir and shred beef. 3. (The original recipe now calls for stirring in 1 stick of butter which makes this very rich and delicious but also high in fat content! I leave it out and stir in 1/2 to 1 bottle of our favorite barbeque sauce sometimes) Serve on buns. |
