Some call them farm cookies, grannys everything in cookies... We call them Cowboy cookies. My husband a former bull rider can go through six dozen without thinking about it.. LOL Hence Cowboy cookies. Ingredients:
1 cup shortening or 1 cup lard |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 cup white sugar |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
2 cups flour |
1 cup chocolate chips |
2 cups old fashioned oats |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and sugars. 2. Add eggs and beat well. 3. Add vanilla. 4. Sift soda, powder and add to creamed mixture. 5. Add chips , oats, and nuts. 6. Dough will be rather thick. 7. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. 8. Bake 12 minutes at 375*. 9. These freeze well. |
