Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon shortening |
1 cup water |
2 tablespoons bacon drippings, melted |
Directions:
1. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; stir well. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle water over flour mixture; stir until dry ingredients are moistened. 2. Shape dough into 2-inch balls, and place on lightly greased baking sheets. Brush tops of biscuits with bacon drippings. Bake at 425° for 18 minutes or until lightly browned. |
