Ingredients:
7 ounce(s) uncooked noodles (any cut) |
1/4 cup(s) butter |
3 tablespoon(s) flour |
2 cup(s) milk |
7 ounce(s) cream cheese softened |
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt to taste |
1/2 teaspoon(s) pepper to taste |
2 tablespoon(s) dijon mustard |
8 ounce(s) cheddar cheese cubed |
1 cup(s) (unseasoned) bread crumbs |
Directions:
1. Cook both Part 1 and Part 2 simultaneously. Then follow through with Part 3. 2. Part 1 : The Noodles 3. In a pot, heat water to boiling. 4. Once the water is boiling, add the uncooked noodles into the water, and cook until tender. 5. NOTE: If the noodles get cooked before the sauce is done, leave in hot water until the sauce is completed, or strain and mix in some olive oil to keep the noodles from sticking when they are drying. 6. Part2 : The Cheese Sauce 7. Allow some time for the cream cheese to soften if it has been refrigerated. 8. In a large saucepan, melt the butter on medium to medium high, until completely melted. Stir in the flour, allowing the mixture to thicken. 9. Cube the cream cheese and mix it into the saucepan with the butter and flour, along with the milk, salt, pepper, and dijon mustard. Stir until thickened (it will seem watery at first, but will thicken up given a bit of time). 10. Part3 : The Merge 11. In a large glass baking container, combine the cooked noodles with the thickened sauce. Add the cubed cheddar cheese, and mix thoroughly. The noodles should be covered with the sauce. 12. NOTE: For variety, you are welcome to add in cubed ham, or something else that you see fit. 13. After mixed, place into a pre-heated oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs form a golden crust on the top of the noodles. 14. Let cool for a bit. 15. Serves around 6 people. |
