I’ve had some good luck with new recipes this week. I made this cabbage today and it is really good. Wanted to share the recipe while the weather is still cold enough for “comfort food”. Ingredients:
country cabbage |
(a paula deen recipe) |
4 slices bacon |
1 cabbage, chopped |
salt and pepper to taste |
*tony’s (that’s my personal tweak) |
2-tbspn butter |
Directions:
1. In a heavy Dutch Oven fry down the bacon remove to drain and add the chopped cabbage. 2. Let simmer for about one minute and then add 1 cup of water. 3. Salt and pepper to taste. 4. *(And I added my little personal touch.) 5. Cover and simmer until tender. 6. Before serving stir n the butter and sprinkle with the crunched up bacon peices. 7. Susana |
