From the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram food section sometime in the 1980's. Ingredients:
3 cups whole wheat flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
12 tablespoons honey |
12 ounces beer |
butter |
Directions:
1. In a bowl put the dry ingredients, add honey and pour in the beer, stirring only until flour is moistened. 2. Pour inot a greased loaf pan and bake at 300 degrees for 35 minutes. 3. As soon as removed from the oven, rub top and sides with butter. |
