Cotton Candy Sugar Cookies |

Don't know why they are called cotton candy, but recipe makes delicious sugar cookies. Christmas in July! Ingredients:
1 cup granulated sugar |
1 cup powdered sugar |
1 cup butter |
1 cup vegetable oil |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon cream of tartar |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
4-1/4 cups flour |
extra sugar for pressing cookies |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. 2. Cream together the granulated sugar, powdered sugar, butter, and cooking oil. 3. Beat in eggs and vanilla. 4. Add dry ingredients, (the next four ingredients) and mix to incorporate. 5. Roll dough into small balls about the size of a quarter. 6. Roll in sugar crystals if desired 7. Flatten out a bit with bottom of glass 8. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until the edges just start to turn slightly brown. 9. Do not over bake- just till set and edges are browned 10. Cool sugar cookies on the baking sheet briefly then transfer to wire rack to cool the rest of the way. |
