My mother has been making this recipe for years and her mother before her. It's not really pudding, but is more like a yellow cake with berries in it. My family always uses black raspberries and we usually sit down and eat it for a meal. But it could also be used as dessert or maybe a snack. It's best served warm, with milk poured overtop of it! Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sugar |
1/2 cup crisco |
2 eggs |
3 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1 cup milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 pint berries |
Directions:
1. Cream sugar, crisco and eggs. 2. Mix flour, baking powder and salt. 3. Add altenately wtih milk and vanilla. 4. Add berries last. 5. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 by 13 pan. 6. Bake 375 for 45 minutes. |
