By request, Chelby I hope this is what you are looking for. I found out this is actually a Russian dish that was taken back to England after one of the wars. The Russian name is Syrniki. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup cottage cheese, (about 250 grams or 9 ounces) |
2 eggs |
4-6 tablespoons of flour, depending on consistency of the cottage cheese |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
salt or sugar to taste |
oil or butter for frying |
Directions:
1. Mix the cottage cheese and eggs together. 2. Add the baking powder, salt or sugar and enough flour to form a thick batter the consistency of oatmeal. 3. It should be thick and not runny at all. 4. In a cast iron skillet add a little bit of oil or butter and , dropping by big Tbsps, fry on one side, waiting a few minutes until it comes together and then on the other. 5. Only flip one time. 6. Serve with fruits and drizzled with maple syrup or honey. 7. I am guessing on the amount and time just depends on how long you cook them. I prefer to cook them on med/low heat. |
