Top this delicious custard with fresh berries, sour cream, brown sugar and a little cinnamon for a delicious souffle like dessert. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon butter, at room temperature |
1 tablespoon sugar |
2 cups half-and-half |
4 eggs, room temperature |
6 tablespoons sugar |
1/4 cup flour |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 pinch nutmeg |
1 pinch salt |
2 cups cottage cheese |
1 tablespoon sugar |
Directions:
1. Position rack in center of oven and preheat to 425 degrees. 2. Spread butter over the bottom and sides of a 2 quart souffle dish and dust with 1 tablespoon sugar. 3. Combine all remaining ingredients except cottage cheese and 1 tablespoon sugar in blender and blend until smooth. 4. Add cheese and blend at low speed just until mixed, about 5 seconds. 5. Pour custard into prepared dish. 6. and bake for 30 minutes. 7. Lower oven temperature to 350 and bake 10 minutes longer. 8. Sprinkle custard with 1 tablespoon sugar. 9. Bake for 5 more minutes. 10. Remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes before serving. |
