This is another candy I remember my Grandma Hanzlik making when I was a little girl. Ingredients:
2 envelopes unflavored gelatin |
1 1/4 cups apricot juice, divided |
2 cups sugar |
1 tsp. vanilla |
1 drop rose water |
1 cup finely chopped walnuts |
powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. Soak the gelatin in 1/2 cup apricot juice for 10 minutes. 2. In a heavy saucepan, pour in remaining apricot juice and sugar and bring to a boil. Add gelatin mixture and boil for 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Allow to cool 20 minutes. Then add vanilla, rose water and nuts. Stir well. Pour into a greased 11x7 pan. Cover and let set 48 hours before cutting into squares and rolling in powdered sugar. |
