If you like spicy food, you'll love these burgers! When I added the jalapeno pepper to my regular turkey burgers and served them with the sauce, they were a hit. You can also grill them. Ingredients:
burgers: |
1 pound ground turkey |
1/4 cup yellow cornmeal |
1 egg, lightly beaten |
1/2 to 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped |
1 tablespoon lime juice |
2 to 4 drops hot pepper sauce |
1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground cumin |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
sauce: |
1 cup fresh corn, cooked |
1 cup picante sauce |
1 tablespoon lime juice |
Directions:
1. In a medium bowl, combine the first nine ingredients; mix well. Shape into four patties. Heat oil in skillet; fry patties over medium heat for about 4 minutes per side or until done. 2. Heat sauce ingredients in a small saucepan; serve over burgers. Serve on hamburger buns if desired. Yield: 4 servings. |
