Yummy alternative to a hot rice cereal or grits. Can even make fried cornmeal patties. Yummy! Ingredients:
4 cups water |
1 cup cornmeal |
salt - to taste |
butter - to taste |
milk - to taste |
Directions:
1. Bring 3 cups of water to a boil. 2. Combine remaining cup of water with cornmeal. 3. Whisk cornmeal mixture to boiling water. 4. Add salt. 5. Whisk until it comes back to a boil then turn heat to low. 6. Cover and cook for about 30 minutes. 7. Serve with butter and milk - or grease inside of tall glass and pack with cornmeal, chill or refrgerate until rcold. Slice chilled cormeal into 1-inch thick rounds and fry in butter until crips on both sides. |
