Cornmeal Muffins (Pre-1940's)

This Pre-1940's recipe included in my “Grandma’s Wartime Edition Cookbook”
Ingredients:
1/2 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
3 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon fat (crisco)
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup milk
1 egg
Directions:
1. Mix and sift dry ingredients.
2. Add gradually milk and eggs beaten.
3. Add fat.
4. Bake in greased muffin pans in hot oven 400 degrees for aprox 25 minutes.
