This Pre-1940's recipe included in my “Grandma’s Wartime Edition Cookbook” Ingredients:
1/2 cup cornmeal |
1 cup flour |
3 tablespoons baking powder |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1 tablespoon fat (crisco) |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3/4 cup milk |
1 egg |
Directions:
1. Mix and sift dry ingredients. 2. Add gradually milk and eggs beaten. 3. Add fat. 4. Bake in greased muffin pans in hot oven 400 degrees for aprox 25 minutes. |
