My mother got this recipe from her good friend, Mrs. Pud, who is a fantastic cook. This is by far the tastiest, most tender coned beef and cabbage I have ever eaten. I hope you enjoy! Ingredients:
1 corned beef, around 3 pounds (save seasoning packet) |
1 large head of cabbage, sliced into large chunks |
1 quart water |
1 cup garlic wine vinegar |
1 tablespoon salt |
2 tablespoons fresh garlic, minced |
2 -3 teaspoons dill seeds |
2 bay leaves |
2 teaspoons mustard seeds |
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes |
Directions:
1. In a large dutch oven or pot add water and seasonings. Next, add corned beef and cabbage. Cover and bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer 4 hours until tender. Enjoy. |
