A favorite of chili n cornbread lovers. Quick and easy. From a local news program. Ingredients:
1.5 lb lean ground beef (93%) |
1 t worcestershire |
1 t heinz 57 |
1 tbsp of chili powder |
1 t cumin |
1/2 t cayenne pepper |
1/4 t red pepper flakes |
1 t chopped garlic |
1 onion, chopped |
1 large can diced tomatoes |
1 can of shoepeg corn, drained |
1 chopped green pepper |
salt and pepper to taste |
1 pkg jiffy cornbread mix |
Directions:
1. Brown beef, worcestershire, heinz 57, onion, garlic and green pepper with seasonings, drain if needed 2. Add tomatoes and corn 3. Simmer 15 minutes and pour into casserole. 4. Mix Jiffy cornbread mix as on package. 5. Then drizzle cornbread mixture over meat mixture. 6. Bake 350 for 18 to 20 minutes or until cornbread is golden brown. |
