From Juanita Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar, if you like sweet corn bread (optional) |
1 1/2 cups yellow cornmeal |
3/4 cup flour |
1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 cup milk |
1/3 cup vegetable oil |
1 egg, slightly beaten |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 2. Combine corn meal, flour and salt in bowl. Mix well. 3. Combine egg, milk, and oil in small bowl. Mix well. 4. Add milk mixture into flour and corn meal mixture until just blended. Pour into 11 inch cast iron skillet. 5. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. |
