This is a sweet cornbread cake recipe that is great for a crowd. If you make a pot of ham and beans, you will want this cornbread to accompany it. Ingredients:
1 cup butter flavor shortening |
1 1/4 cups sugar |
2 1/2 cups flour |
1 3/4 cups yellow cornmeal |
3 large eggs |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 3/4 cups milk |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and sugar. 2. Add eggs, milk, flour, cornmeal, salt and baking powder. 3. Bake in a greased sheet cake pan at 400^ for 20 minutes. |
