Simple cornbread recipe. I think this is an Alton Brown recipe. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups cornmeal |
1 tablespoon sugar |
3/4 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 large eggs |
1 3/4 cups buttermilk |
4 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425°F. 2. Preheat cast iron skillet in hot oven for 10 minutes. 3. Mix dry ingredients in one bowl. 4. Mix wet ingredients in another. 5. Put butter in hot skillet to melt, and dump most of it into the wet stuff. 6. Stir dry ingredients into wet ones. 7. Put batter into skillet and bake until golden, 20-25 minutes. |
