Here we go this is the recipe from my childhood home ec class that I can not get it out of my mind. As a kid I loved these, I am going to see if I still do. Ingredients:
4 egg whites |
1/4 tsp cream of tartar |
1 tsp vanilla |
1 1/3 cups sugar |
1 cup chopped pecans |
1 cup shredded coconut |
3 cups corn flake cereal |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 F. 2. In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy. 3. Stir in the cream of tartar and vanilla. 4. Gradually add the sugar, beating until stiff and glossy. 5. Stir in pecans, coconut, and corn flake cereal. 6. Drop by rounded measuring tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheets that have been spray with a vegetable cooking spray. 7. Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned. 8. Remove immediately from the cookie sheets. 9. Cool on wire racks. 10. Yield: about 3 dozen |
