As yummy as it gets, and as easy. Ingredients:
28 graham crackers |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 lb butter |
1/2 cup slivered almonds |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. First, lay the graham crackers in the bottom of a jelly roll pan. Make sure it has 4 sides, completely enclosed. Fill all the corners and ends with crackers cut to size if necessary. 3. Melt butter in saucepan over low heat. 4. Add brown sugar and stir until completely mixed and absorbed. Keep heat low. 5. Add almonds and stir to mix. 6. Pour mixture evenly over crackers and spread to fill corners and completely cover. 7. Bake for 5 minutes and check. As soon as edges look like they are getting quite brown they are done. Mixture should be bubbling everywhere. Remove from oven. 8. Crackers may have lifted/shifted from the bubbling. Tap down with tip of a knife to help set more evenly. 9. Cool in pan 1/2 hour. Cut into pieces (1 cracker = 2 pieces). Should make about 56 servings. |
