1944's Everyday Foods Ingredients:
1/2 tsp mustard |
1/2 tsp salt |
1/4 tsp paprika |
1 tbs sugar |
2 egg yolks or 1 whole egg |
1 tbs butter |
1 cup milk |
1/4 cup mild vinegar |
1 1/2 tbs flour |
Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients, and add egg and milk. Cook over hot water. Add butter. Add vinegar slowly. Stir until smooth. 2. Cream dressing: 1 cup of whipped cream (sweet or sour) may be added to cooked salad dressing when cooled. 2 TBS peanut butter may also be added. |
