2 tablespoons butter or margarine |
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour |
1 tablespoon prepared mustard |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
3/4 cup milk |
1 egg yolk, beaten |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in top of a double boiler; stir in flour, mustard, salt, and pepper. Combine milk and yolk in a small mixing bowl; gradually stir into flour-mustard mixture. Cook over boiling water 5 minutes or until thickened and smooth. Remove from heat, and stir in lemon juice. |
