The first time I had these I thought These should be called I've-Died-And-Gone-To-Heaven Bars! The recipe is from long time family friend and neighbor Matel Viall... and one of my very favorites! Ingredients:
2/3 cup butter or 2/3 cup margarine |
1 (16 ounce) box light brown sugar |
3 large eggs |
2 2/3 cups self-rising flour |
1 cup chopped pecans |
1 cup raisins |
1 (6 ounce) package chocolate chips |
1 cup coconut |
Directions:
1. Melt butter or margarine in large saucepan. 2. Stir in sugar; cool 10 minutes. 3. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring well (do not use a mixer). 4. Stir in flour. 5. Add remaining ingredients, mixing well. 6. Spread in a 15 x 10 pan. 7. Bake 30 minutes at 350°. 8. Cool and cut into squares. |
